Bruno Clair
A Benchmark for Classic Burgundy
Domaine Bruno Clair, founded in 1979, is a revered name in Burgundy, producing wines that exemplify clarity, precision, and age-worthiness. With holdings across some of the finest appellations—including Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, and Morey-Saint-Denis—Bruno Clair and his team craft wines that showcase the depth and diversity of Burgundy’s terroirs.
Known for their purity and elegance, Bruno Clair’s wines are made with careful vineyard management, restrained use of oak, and a commitment to expressing the individual character of each parcel. From the structured and powerful Chambertin-Clos de Bèze to the ethereal Savigny-lès-Beaune, the Domaine’s bottlings consistently offer a perfect balance of fruit, minerality, and structure, making them essential for Burgundy enthusiasts.
In 2010, Bruno’s eldest son, Edouard, joined the domaine, focusing on vineyard management and vinification. Arthur, his youngest son, followed in 2018, taking charge of the cellar and overseeing the winemaking process. Their sister, Margaux, also became involved, handling shipping and contributing to vineyard work.
Under the leadership of Edouard and Arthur, the estate has embraced organic farming practices, reducing chemical usage and enhancing soil health. They have introduced cover crops between the vines and increased whole-cluster fermentations in the winery, aiming to produce wines with greater vibrancy and clarity.
